: Has anyone gone through testing to get a disability rating ? What is done during this test?
: I was injured in an auto accident and have herniaded disks in my neck and back and nerve damage
: in my hip and leg . Just wondering if anyone has gone through this. Thanks, Vince

It is just an exam that gives a percentage of disability. It is ridiculous really. They will fight you till the end if you apply for SS disability. I worked my whole life and paid into SS. I had a herniated disk at L5-S1 and have been unable to work for six years. My problem is considered permenant. I was a paralegal and when I went to the disability hearing, the judge asked me why I couldn't work as a paralegal. I asked him if he would hire me knowing that I could only stand for a short time, walk short distances and lift very little. I guess that was what it took. They made me fight for 2 1/2 years until they had no good excuses left. It is hard enough living in constant pain. It makes it even worse when you can no longer support yourself. Good luck to you and if your problems are severe enough, you will win. Just have everything from your doctors documented. Good luck
Lori
