My husband has been diagnosed with viral neuropathy only after his mri's, cat scans, x-rays, blood work, emg, and muscle and nerve biopsies have produced nothing. We are both a little confused and feel this is the diagnosis only because nothing else has been found. They can not tell us what has caused the neuropathy, hence we don't know why they tagged it "viral neuropathy", and he seems to be getting no better. The doctors have him on neurontin, methotrexate, lortab, and prednisone. Has anyone else out there been treated with such meds, and if so, how long until the symptoms ease up? If you have not been treated with these meds, please let us know what meds you are treated with. We feel certain there are other drugs out there, but our doctor is no expert at neuropathy, and so my husband has been on the same drugs for eight months, and they no longer seem to help. Please help.......
