I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy earlier this year. The Neuro placed me on Neurontin. The first few weeks on this drug were extremely difficult; thought I'd lose what was left of my mind! However, after being on it for about a month, things settled down. Now, several months later, I'm taking a daily dosage of 2400 mg. It's certainly helped the PN pain, and as a wondeful bonus - it's also improved my severe symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis!! :) I was on a "Neurontin List" for a while, and there I found most of them were taking Neurontin for their extreme symptoms of Fibromyalgia and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome! These same people said their daily dosage was anywhere from 3500 to 4600 mg., and they had NO pain at this dosage! Still, others I know are taking Neurontin for a mood stabilizer! This drug certainly has a broad range of 'off label' uses, as it's marketed as an anti -seizure drug. How many of you are taking Neurontin for Neuropathy pain and numbness, and what doseage do you use? How much, if any, improvement have you seen since beginning this drug?
