I have been taking twp tablets of 300mg each from Jarrow a day. Search for Jarrow and Alpha Lipoic Acid. I found an online store (iherb.com) that has excellent prices. It has helped my neuropathy greatly. : : Has anyone heard of taking Alpha Lipoic Acid to help significantly with diabetic related neuropathy. I have heard there had been positive results from a study that was conducted at the Mayo Clinic. The dose of Alpha Lipoic Acid was 600mgs per day---which is higher than I have seen in heath food stores. : : God Bless----Harry : I have been taking 600 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid every morning for approx. 4 weeks. I have had severe nueropathy in both my feet for several years. It has started to limit my mobility and balance. The Alpha Lipoic Acid has helped and I am slowly regaining sensation in my feet. The article I read said the German study was done with 1800mg a day. I decided to start at 600mg based on other info. I had read. I have not noticed any negative side effects. Research pricinhg very carefully. 200mg capsules were the highest dose I could find. One study also said that taking it in the morning seemed to work the best. I know it has helped me. It is no "miracle cure", but there has been a noticable improvement in my case. : Good Luck : Jean
