: That doesn't really sound like peripheral neuropathy. Sounds more like a pinched nerve. Peripheral neuropathy started for me mostly as numbness for the first several months and only moved into pain gradually. Also by the time my pain had reached the point where I would describe it as "searing" it was spread out over my foot, not localized like you talk about. And lastly, I found it developed in both feet at pretty much the same rate, not just one foot. I have the same problem. I have tried several drugs to help control the pain but nothing did ther trick. I was going to be part of a drug study for but i was bounced out by the drug mfr. My pain has gotten a lot better. I still have some discomfort but it is a whole heck of a lot better. I read back n\then it will get better with time anywhere from 6 months to 18 months. but the doctors didn't agree. I would like to hear from people who have the same problem thanks mike
