: My wife has been diagnosed with peripheral neuopathy and is currently on neurontin and ultram. I had suggested that the pain mgmy doc looc into compounding creams from lidocaine and amitriptoline which I have heard aids in this disease. I was also told today that ALPHA LIPOIC ACID, which is a natural supplement aids in diabetic neuropathy. Anyone have experience with this at all. Please email me personally. Hi George, I have a very good friend that uses alpha lipoic acid and it helps alot--more than any medication.He takes 100mgs --3 times a day. God bless---Harry
