My husband had this and was seen by two Dr.s who could not find out what was wrong with him
we then saw a third one and he had a form of shingles, which is caused by the chicken pox virus,
the pain was extreme, along with the tingling and burning sensation problems that your husband
has expressed and it traveled along the nerve bundles around to the front of his body.
He was place on medication and within 48 hours he was having relief. Hope this helps
