I am a 57 year old menopausal female that has been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. I have an intense burning, itchy pain in my legs and arms at least two to three episodes per day. It is very diabilitating and nothing seems to work except a glass of wine and ice packs. I don't want to become an alcoholic...my meds are an antidepressant (thank God), a hormone, a hypertensive drug and lorzepam..My primary care physician has started me on a regime of vitamins B12, 6, and 1, which I am very deficient in. I cannot believe that a vitamin deficiency can cause this much pain. I have been suffering for over six years and I am so tired of living this way. I pray constantly and I've been to every specialist, except for a witchdoctor. Is there any hope?? : Cassandra - check out The Neuropathy Assn. website: www.neuropathy.org.
