: : I was diagnosed with borderline diabetes and later developed painful neuropathy in both feet, although the diabetes hasn't gotten worse. The neuropathy has improved since I received treatment for an overactive thyroid. Does anyone know of a connection between hyperthyroidism and neuropathy?
: I found your question interesting because I have HYPOthyroidsim -- and I was diagnosed with
: borderline diabetes. I also had very painful neuropopathy in both feet. Like you, borderline diabetes
: has not gotten worse. In fact, I was able to stabilize my blood sugar problem to within the normal range
: within two years of thyroid diagnosis. One of the main things that has aided in abatement of neuropathy
: has been B12 supplementation via injection and food. Interesting possible connection -- even though yours
: is "hyper" and mine is "hypo". Charlotte Jensen
I read your posting with interest. I have heard that Vitamin B12 is given only to people with a Vitamin B12 deficiency and yet you do not indicate that you had one. At the same time you say the Vitamin B12 helped you. Could you tell me more about the way in which you are receiving the Vitamin B12, the dosage, and for how long? Thank you. Eve.-
