when should a woman have a bone density test? i am 44 years old and had milk allergies from age 15 to about 35 when they subsided. i took calcium supplements when i was pregnant (28 and 31 years) my mum and grandmum both had it i'm sure. my mum is bent over and has a hump on the back of her neck - i have had one for years also. i am taking 1,000mg calcium supplement a day and also have hypothyroidism - underactive thyroid for 5 years now which i take a synthetic hormone drug for. i fell last xmas and broke my arm when i banged it on a cupboard as i fell. should i get tested now to see if i can be doing more to prevent it? i live in toronto.
