: I was diagnosed of a general osteoporosis from a test result of chest x-rays as compared from : a previous x-rays done 2 years ago. The doctor prescribed fosamox. I am 49 years old and has : low back pain since last 4 years. Do you have experience in osteoporosis in men. : . I am 41 male. I was diagnosed of the osteoporosis 3 years ago. Its origin was that my parathyroid had been overactivated to maintain calcium level in my blood too high, almost double as compared with the normal. The 3-month-treatment,shortly, made it normal. Then I have been taking Fosamax 5mg a day for an half and 2 years. No side effects. It works quite well for me. My doctor says my bone density's been recovering very rapidly. I couldn't feel so much, however. I am looking for other options for me. I want to share information with young men who are pained from osteoporosis. bh
