: Has anyone read a small article in the paper 3-4 weeks ago about the connection between eating a small amount of lettuce every day and the prevention of osteoporosis? I cannot find the piece and need to learn more about it to share with my family.
I read today that iceberg lettuce slows down bowel movements but have not heard anythng abouts it's effect on osteoporosis.Since it does not contain many vits and minerals, it seem that it would do very little.
I have a friend whose son brought home an Iguana from college and all he fed it was lettuce for 4 or 5 years. He took it to the Vet. when it got very sick and couldn't move .The Vet said it did not have any bones-- he had never seen such bad case of mal-nutrition. My friend thought he was doing the right thing and it really upset him when the lizard died.
I know this does'nt help but its interesting!!!
