Just a word of caution for those of you who might be using any prescripton allergy nasal spray containing corticosteroids. I have recently been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis (BMD -30-35%). While I have several known genetic risk factors the diagnosis is still shattering. I am very physically active, on ERT, take calcium supplements, etc, etc. Three years ago, at age 57, my DEXA scan was OK (less than 1/2 of 1% off SD). However, 3 years ago I began using a nasal spray to manage allergy symptoms - the corticosteroid was minimal - but I think it acted as a catalyst to accelerate my nosedive spiral into osteo. Run, don't walk, to your doctor and inquire if you think you may be at risk. Insist on a DEXA scan, fight with you HMO if you have to, but get one - or pay for the scan yourself if your health care provider is totally derelict. You owe it to yourself.
