I presented a paragraph earlier w/out any response. I am again asking if anyone has any info on long-term usage of Fosomax? I've been on it for over 2 yrs. & only side effect I notice is about 10 lbs. weight gain. My Rhumotologist set my next appt. for 5/2001,on my last visit 5/1999, so he must anticipate the benefits I'm receiving from it's use. I'm 62, mother had osteo, however, I do not smoke, drink, I do exercise some (used to do more, but lately not so much)but I'm very active, try to eat a well balanced diet, & I take plenty (1500)mgs. calcium daily. Bone density went up 8.5% in one year after taking Fosomax. After reading a lot of material, I don't want to wake up some day w/esophio ulcers or perhaps some other god-awful thing from taking this drug. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Can I continue taking this med without dread of developing even something worse than a fracture? Thanks Jacki
