I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at the age of 44
almost 5 years ago. There was almost no change
in follow up bone scans. Last year my endo ordered parathyroid
parathyroid scan and thyroid scans. They Para=
thyroids were hyperactive, taking calcium from
bones. Also had thyroid nodules which turned ou
to be cancer. I had a total thyroidectomy and
half of each parathyroid was removed. Have you
been tested for thyroid or parathyroid disease?
I wish you luck. This can be a very frightening
disease.
