I: I have been reading many of the messages, but cannot seem to tell if anyone has a T-score as severe as -5.3 in the spine. I was diagnosed at the age of 39 with with severe osteoporosis and have 6 compression fractures . If anyone has severe osteoporosis such as mine please E-mail me PatL50@mediaone.net. I might add that I have undergone every test possible and the cause remains unknown. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at the age of 44 almost 5 years ago. There was almost no change in follow up bone scans. Last year my endo ordered parathyroid parathyroid scan and thyroid scans. They Para= thyroids were hyperactive, taking calcium from bones. Also had thyroid nodules which turned ou to be cancer. I had a total thyroidectomy and half of each parathyroid was removed. Have you been tested for thyroid or parathyroid disease? I wish you luck. This can be a very frightening disease.
