: : Is anyone familiar with a product called Cal Max manufactured by Nutrina Co.? I am trying to find a good calcium supplement that will dissolve in my body and not pass through. If anyone has any thoughts, I would appreciate hearing about them.
: : Thanks a lot.: I know that anything with calcium citrate dissolves very quickly, sometimes even as you swollow. If you are over 45 and are taking calcium for osteo - this is what my doctor told me. I have been taking calc for 20 years and am still getting osteo. She put me on a drug called Didrocal. It consists of 2 weeks on a drug to "kick start" your bones into using calcium and then 3 months on lots of calcium. She said that due to hormone levels, bones sometimes shut down and do not make new bones no matter how much calcium you take. If this applies to you, check with your doctor.
I found the Nutrina Cal Max at a health food/Vitamin store in Ganada Hills,Ca. I'm taking another brand of Cal Max (www.drpinkus.com)I heard about this one on the radio and T.V. I'm now trying to fine out which one is better. Good luckRoger
