: Since being diagnosed 5/98 I have not found anything to control the bone pain associated with this debilitating disease. Does anyone have any ideas or a regime that works for them? Thank you.
I've been walking bone on bone in my left knee with grade 4+ osteoarthritis with some osteoporosis. The most successful treatment shy of fusing the knee or complete replacement has been the "non-cancerous opiod therapy" program. It has been so successful that I think I can postpone the replacement indefinately. After 9 surgeries my doc says that I'm at serious danger for infection and if that happened, I could lose the leg. Check with you local clinics for a "pain management clinic" where your doc is an anesthisis(sp?). They are usually more liberal with narcotics and have a better understanding of what constant pain can do to a human. Good luck!
