: I'm a 51 year old woman and am so worried about the results of my recent -1.0 ankle test for osteoporosis. This was a self ordered test and I received a letter telling me to see my physician.

: I just relocated to FL and don't even have one yet. Also having trouble with my health insurance from another state and can't afford to do further testing/medication at this time on my own until insurance is settled.

: I take calcium and play alot of golf now. Have to admit though for most of my life my diet/exercise program was horrid.

: Any advice appreciated.
: Barbara

I am 46 and thin. A dexa scan shows my femor bone was -1.0 S.D. which my doc said was pretty good. My spine is -1.7 which is not so good. I do not want to take estrogen, but use progesterone cream and try to achieve a daily intake of 800mg and am starting impact exercises. I wonder if that's enough calcium?...Rebecca G.
