My ten year old daughter was diagn. with JDMS Dec 1997 and has been under going some very intense steroid therapy during the last 3 years orally, as well as solumedral infusions. June 2000 a Dexa showed -4.3 standard deviations from the mean of bone loss from head to toe. Two weeks ago she had a spine x-ray that showed a commpression fracture at T-6. Nobody seems too concerned although I have started to give her 1600mgs calcium with 600iu of Vitamin D. She will begin the first Primidrinate infusion Nov6,7,8. She willbe recving her solumedral,IVIG,and Methotrexate during those three days. Will this infusion make a difference, is it better than taking an oral dosage? Are ther side effects, What about this spine that has a fracture? Will it get better?Any info will help thanks for listening....................:)
