: : Hi : Hi all: went to an endocrinologist and we discussed various modalities of therapy; she : : : ordered some more tests(urine and blood) but she is thinking of treating me with : : : Actonel- frankly, I don;t know if my fear will allow me to take it but she said it doesn't have the severe : : : GI symptoms that Fosamax has-- anyone out there taking it and can tell me what you are : : : experiencing? thanks much : : Hi, I was on Fosamax for 4 1/2 yrs. with out a realbig increase ing : : bone density. I also have thyroid disease which : : works against me. Any way my dr. put me on : : actonel about a month ago and I don't seem to have any problems with it. She said it absorbs better than Fosamax. I : : don't like taking any of this stuff but I really don't have a choice. Good luck,Camille : I have had similiar testing and just last week started on Actonel by the same type of doctor. At least this med. has been around for quite a while since it has been treatments patient s with Pagents Disease. BestWishes to all. Sure hope we have strong bones soon.
