My sisterj, age 55, was recently diagnosed with two fractured vertegrae in her back (compression fractures). Because she is currently unable to sit at her computer, she asked if I could locate anyone who has undergone the Vertebroplasty procedure. She must make a decision within the next few days as to whether or not she will have it done, and, of course, Orthopedics are saying "NO" - we believe it's because they just aren't familiar enough.
If anyone has had this procedure done, please respond asap. She is suffering with this condition as a result of having been on artificial thyroid medication for the last 3 years - no one ever told her that these medications deplete the calcium in your body. She is only 55. Thanks for your help.
