I have just found out that I suffer from severe lumbar stenosis at L4-L5. Most of my problems are with my lower extremities and not my back. Some times can not walk at all, almost as if my leg is paralized. The pain in my leg is incredible when trying to ambulate but subsides when I get off my feet. I can not even stand straight up, I am always tilted forward at least 5 degrees. Will any surgical procedure help and if so what kind? A laminectomy with posterior fusion has been reccomended but after researchig this stenosis I am not so sure that is what I should have done.I also have found out that there are two specificaly different types of problems from atributed to stenosis, one being vascular and the othe being neurogenic. How can I find out exactly what is causing me my problems? Thank you. John
