My opinions on this subject are listed as a response to Kathy on her 5/01/00 post.
If you do this, either use a transforaminal approach with fluoroscopy or caudal approach with fluoroscopy, both of which are much better than interlaminar approach with fluoroscopy which is much better than interlaminar approach without fluoroscopy.
: Hi Dr. Whitworth, have finally received the report from the pain manager I saw recently. He's strongly advised my gp to give mscontin, so hopefully I'll have that by Monday. As well as him requiring I get high quality neurological/surgical assist, he's recommended I have a "injection of cortico-steroid into the epidural space".
: What does this mean and why would it be a good start??
: Is this method proven to be worthwhile??
: Pain is increasing and getting deeper, headaches are extending and is so hard to move these days. Hopefully I'll et help sooner rather than later. Have heard about this pain clinic in Adelaide, South Australia, so hopefully I'll get in here soon if I pressure my gp to refer me here.
: Feelings of nausea still in, cold sweat now with pain. Still nodding off heaps and am exhausted. Different now I know why. Pain to feet/toes is sharp, ache/throb kind. Could really do with some good sleep!
: Appreciate time taken. Take care, ila
