Current treatments include:
1. Racz procedure with Wydase and steroid
2. Forced epidural steroid injections (transforaminal or interlaminar)
3. Catheter directed forced epidural steroid injections
4. Epiduroscopy using the scope to lyse scar tissue
In the near future I will be adding Holmium laser epiduroscopy which has shown great promise.
The Racz is currently probably the best of the group available.
Epiduroscopy in a direct comparison, has less efficacy compared with the Racz.
The others depend on being able to forcefully inject under pressure through scar tissue which usually isnt possible and can have severe side effects due to increase in the spinal cord pressure.

: Dr. Whitworth-

: I was wondering if you would give me your opinion of the most useful treatments for resolving pain from scar
: tissue caused by back surgery. I've read about racz
: procedure, wydase injections and neuroplasty. What is
: your opinion of these options..and for whom are they most appropriate? Please respond...thanks-

: Danielle
