Hi Everybody:

I have been monitoring this forum & can't help noticing
how distraught everyone is about the Dr.leaving. As the
moderator has said, this is a PEER SUPPORT board! I
know it was very nice to have a doctor like Dr.W.helping everyone out with answers to questions. I
also noticed that a lot of people are using this doc
instead of going to a doctor of their own. That is very
dangerous for you as well as the doctor. He can only
answer questions in a very superficial way because of
the format of a forum, a lot of you are asking questions that should be asked of your own doctor, face
to face. I know that because of insurance companies,
many people do not have any coverage, but there are
county hospitals and programs that will cover you free
of charge until you can get other help. In answer to
what I am sure will be a barrage of anger at my even
suggesting any of the above; I am a chronic pain pt.for
12 years, and also a Registered Nurse for 32 yrs. I go
to a Pain Management doctor also. I really feel that
the Moderator is only doing their job as called for on
this type of forum. Again, I think it is really dangerous for anyone to depend on a doctor on the internet. Especially when it comes to asking about meds...you can ask a phaarmacist the same questions.
You should be asking a doctor face to face about these things. I am quite sure that Dr. W. would prefer that people not depend upon him this way, and see a doctor face to face if possible. If you look at all of the postings on this forum addressed to Dr.W., it really
illustrates the need for these folks to go to their
own doctor, and if no doctor is available, FIND ONE,
there are programs that will assist you if you look
hard enough. Some of these med questions illustrate
that some people are taking meds & they don't even know what the med is or why they are taking it. Please folks, give the Moderator a break, and return this forum to a peer support board.
