I am not Dr. W. I don't think he posts on this board anymore. I did read your post and found that your case isremarkably similiar to mine. I have had lumbar and cervical fusion since 1981. I am now 45. I did have a non-fusion at c4-c5, so I know the pain you are talking about.
I used to take 60 mgs of methadone daily and now I have a internal morphine pump with a dosage of 20 mgs of morphine daily.
To tell you the truth, I wish that I had stayed on the oral meds. My lower back is a little better, but the pump doesn't seem to do anything for the pain in my neck. They are now considering trying to fuse my neck again. I don't know that I want to go through that again.
Do a lot of thinking before you decide on the pump. It might not be the answer that you are looking for.

Good Luck,
John V
