It sounds like you two fellas have been through a lot, huh? I'm sorry :( My doctors can't agree on anything! When I went to my pain doctor on monday and told her that another doctor had suggested the morphine pump, she almost flipped. She really does not want me to get one because she said they get infected all the time..which would not be a good thing since the intrathecal space is so near the spinal cord. She paged one of my surgeons at the hospital and he agreed. I think I am going to have a second back surgery in december. I hope it will at least get rid of some of my leg pain..and then maybe I might not have to take as many meds. If I could live like that for a few more years, maybe I could make it to getting the disc replacement surgery instead of having a fusion, which I have avoided and will continue to avoid for as long as possible. I am currently on ms contin and MSIR for break-thru pain..but I might be doing a medication switch in a few months over to a fentenyl duragesic patch. Have you guys tried this? Well, I'll be thinking of you two johns.
