While recently playing football, felt a sharp pain where my neck and my shoulder meet on the left side. I thought nothing of it at the time but the pain did not go away. I then started getting this tingling feeling in my left arm and noticed that my left harm had become increasingly week and I made the connection that it was my neck that was causing this. I did some research and came to the conclusion that I probably had a pinched nerve. It has been a month now and the pain will not go away and medication such as ibuprofen is not effective at easing my pain. Now I am only 21 years old and would like to avoid any type of surgery if possible. Is this something that will get better by itself over time? Is there any non-surgical way I can effectively treat a pinched nerve? Is surgery my only option? If anyone can provide some answers to these questions it would be greatly appreciated. thank you
