Hello Rayman, sorry to hear about your GB problems and that you have to have an "open surgery" for it. I don't know much about that organ but I have heard it's not really necessary and serves no purpose in the body???
You mentioned you were on various pain killers but didn't say what kind. You may want to re-post which ones for the posters of the board. Yes your docs should be taking into account your weight when prescribing the mg amount of pain meds. It may be that you need a higher dosage for you body weight and the docs aren't looking at this. There is a med. called Neurontin that's wonderful for sleeping and it's non-addictive. As far as does it do anything for pain? Not really. You may want to take a combo of meds. One as a pain reliever during the day that doesn't make one to "dopey" and over sleepy if you know what I mean and the Neurontin also.
Demerol sounds a little extreme and not necessary for someone like yourself. You just need a good pain med at a higher dosage than what you've been given in the past. Be well and re-post what pain meds you've been given in the past so we can help you further if possible.
