: I have just been prescribed "neurontin" for chronic pain in my abdomen due to an "adenoma ampula" and chronic pancreatitis. Does anyone out there take this medication for chronic pain? My starting dosage is 300mg at night 1st 3 days, then 600 mg for 3 days, then up to 900 mg a day. Does it have any side effects? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Robin
Hi,
I'm new to the board. I also take Neurontin, but for chronic back pain. Neurontin is a drug that is usually used as an anti-seizure drug. It has also been successful in treating chronic pain, & I have had very good results from it.
Previous to using this, I had horrible lower back pain 100% of the time. After just one day of using Neurontin,(the same doseage you take)it was like a miracle! The pain had almost vanished, & I physically felt much, much better. I haven't noticed any side effects as yet. I was also told the doseage can be increased considerably,
as needed. I wish you luck with this drug, I hope it will also give you refief from your pain!
Best Wishes,
Kari
