Hi Terry, oxycontin is oxycodone, the same drug thats in percocet, tylox,percodan,roxicet, etc. I've been posting on the mass gen forum for about a month now and nobody including me beleives in twice a day doseing. 3 times is the norm for descent releif. If thats not enough talk to doc about breakthrough meds. I took it for a year and now am on methadone. Much more powerful and more suited to severe chronic pain. I hope you recover quickly and won't be needing the meds for much longer. Take care David
