: This article was found on a search of the "Go" netweek. The researchers devised a different labeling method (radio active labeled altropane) which can be used with a PET scanner or a SPECT scanner enabled the researchers to detect distinct differences in the brain tissue of a Parkinson's patient compared to the brain tissue of a non-Parkinson's patient. In fact, the procedure confirmed the diagnosis of Parkinson's in a 14 year old boy where the diagnosis of pd was doubtful. The procedure is now under going clinicsl trials. How about that for progress? Bruce
Bruce, thanks for the info, VERY interesting. I'll keep looking for follow-ups. Lory
