: : : : I wrote earlier asking about Requip. Thank you to those who replied. I just want to tell everyone that
: : : : the Requip has done wonders. I can breathe much better, I sleep 8 hours at night, and I no longer
: : : : have constipation. Also, I added Centrum 2 times a day, and Coenzyme Q-10, 120mg. I also have
: : : : been taking Vitamin C & E and Selegiline 5 mg. I am 49 and was told I have Parkinson's 2 years ago.
: : : : I haven't been on Requip 2 weeks yet, but am very happy so far.
: : : : Also, I may be participating in the GM1 Ganglioside studies at Thomas Jefferson U. in Phladelphia. This
: : : : is a 10 hour drive from my home, but I think it is worth the travel.
: : : : I have been reading about a lot of new studies to help everyone at all stages of our disease and hope the
: : : : best for all of you.
: : : Sue,
: : : Glad to hear the good news.Keep us posted about the GM1 Ganglioside studies. I think Bruce had mentioned that study.
: : : Googy
: : Sue, its always great to hear of someone doing well. Requip is a good drug, and hopefully shouldn't cause you to have major side effects. Bruce
: Thanks for sharing your GREAT feelings! It's so good to know when someone is have up-times! They DO happen!
That's good news! I've been taking Requip for almost 3 years now and it was gradually increased to 3 doses a day, 6 hours apart, of 6mg. morning, 7mg. afternoon (trying to help my "down time" in the early evening) and 6mg. evening. After all these years I can't tell exactly how it is working (you tend to forget how bad you were before you took it), but I know it was first prescribed, it made a big change. And I don't want to go without it just to see how well it works LOL!
