In Reply to: Medicare coverage of STN surgery? posted by Bruce on September 11, 2000 at 20:43:56:

: Does anyone know of a source that would tell me which states that medicare will pay for the STN surgery. I know we are told to just pick up the phone and call medicsre, but I have a feeling I would have a hard time describing the surgery to that "nameless" civil servant. The lady who takes the calls at Kansas University medical center told me the surgery is covered by medicare in that state. Will medicare cover the surgery in the state of Georgia?

Bruce if Kansas covers the DBS under medicare, all states do.It is a Federal Medicare agency.Under Health care Financing Administration. Look on the internet.WWW.medicare.gov......Try it ,
