Betty P. Based on what you desribed (more serious?)what I have read, it does't seem like the symptoms are any more severe than Parkinson's. Did the neurologist actually say tthis condition is more severe than Pd? What type of symptoms does he have? The basal ganglia are abnormaal with Parkinson's and I found where it said if the basal ganglia are damaged the symptoms were the same as Parkinson'symptoms. Two of the sites for the DBS surgery are a part of the basal ganglia and they are the GP1 and STN sites. The STN surgery is what I am seeking. Take care. Bruce
