: There were some clinical studies done in Europe several years ago with apparently good results. Dr. Perlmutter (board certified neurologist) in FL is recommending it to his PD patients with apparently good results. As far as I can see, he's not trying to sell the stuff, just recommending it. I've had several health care professionals look at the research and they're all saying it looks like it could be good. A chiropractor friend gave his mother (who has PD) a product with glutamine and her functioning improved dramatically. We're still not sure what to do, but would like to talk with others who've tried glutathione/glutamine or anything like this.
Dr. Lieberman, the director of NPF stated their is a defficiency of glutathione in the pwp;s brain, but there is no studies yet that prove taking glutathione/glutamate will improve the symptoms of pd. He then said they were starting a research study in Florida that hopefully will determine the usefullness of taking this substance. Bruce
