: : With Post Polio symdrone exercising evidently breaks down the good muscles. With no muscles in my middle area I have a real problem takingoff weight. I would like to hear from someone who has found an answer to this problem. the added weight is causing much more pain in my legs, especially my left leg and knee area. I am age 54 having polio when I was nine years old.
: : Thank you.

: I hope I am posting this right, it is the first time I have answered anyone on chat. I to am having problems with post polio. My weight gain this past year has caused problems in my lower back area. I am 65 and had polio when I was 2. Never have had any problem walking until this past year, but it seems my good muscles are getting weaker. Sorry I don't have a solution for losing weight, but if you find one let me know.

I am 51; had polio when I was 5. I, too , have problems with weight--one thing that I have found that seems to help my overall feeling of well being is to drink lots and lots of water each day. I know that sounds like an old horse, but it really is true. I still work each day and I keep a water bottle on my desk and kinda time myself to drink so many bottles of water during each 1/2 of my day--that way I make sure I get what I need. Try it--won't work miracles, but it will help. Good Luck!
