She said she had sex 10 days before, not after... her period. : The *average* woman ovulates (egg is most ready for fertilization) 12-14 days after the FIRST day of her period. So, there's a good chance you could be pregnant. If your periods are irregular, there's some fluctuation. As soon as your period is late, you can take a home test if you wish. If it comes up negative and your period has yet to arrive, take another one in a few weeks or see your Dr.
