As far as I know, the only way to test for Down's is with an amniocentesis. They will use a long needle to withdraw amniotic fluid. They use local anesthetic to numb up the area, and other than the stick and sting from the intial injection of local, you shouldn't feel anything except a little pressure. The fluid is then analyzed for lots of things. I think it takes several days to weeks for the results to come back.
Movement starts being noticeable about week 15-16, some earlier, some later. At first it's fluttery, I've heard some describe it as butterfly wings, and that's about right. Trust me, it's more noticeable later.
