: I used this to help with aiding in inducing my labor and it worked and worked well. The only downfall is that it took three days to work and it is a laxative so you will flush everything out. But it does work and I was right on my due date when I did it and finally had him. So I really scheduled it right on the money. There was no problems with doing it and well my doctor I'm sure knew I did it but said nothing about it. So yes I would say it is one of the safest methods there is another method of doing this too that does prove to be a safe and easy way to induce labor and have a speedy labor without much pain. You start at five weeks of pregnancy by taking a herb called 5-W then on your due date you will add Mastergland to that and with that combination you will inevitably induce labor and well there are results. The longest labor ever with those two combinations was about three hours long. You can check out wwww.naturessunshine.com for those herbs and it will explain a bit more or you can go here and this lady will explain it to you also.http://www.marysherbs.com/heal-pr3.htm

It's good that the castor oil worked for you. I talked to my midwife about using it and she said no. She used to work in infant ICU and saw what happens when the infant inhales meconium. She said that becuase the castor oil is such a strong laxative there is a higher chance of the baby having it's first meconium BM and then inhaling it while in the uterus. I've read books on herbs and midwives and if your cervices isn't soft and ripe and you aren't dilated its not a smart idea to try and induce. Some babies naturally take 2 weeks longer. If you're at 2 plus weeks than get advice on what you can do naturally to get started but be very careful. Do a lot of nipple stimulation and sex with partner first and you can rub primrose oil on the service to help it soften. Those are safer things to try first.

Believe me I know what it's like to want that baby out. But a few days longer is better than having your baby end up in ICU for a week or two.

I have tried the 5-w and it is good for preparing the body. My midwife likes it better than the PN6 that you get at the health food store. I haven't heard of the mastergland though.
