My first child, my daughter, weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. I had a lot of problems getting her shoulders
through. The doctor was only going to let me push for 2 hours and then do a c-section if I could
not push her out in that amount of time, but for some reason they let me push for 2 hours, 50
minutes. I think the hardest part was getting her shoulders through. That is why they want to
induce me before the baby gets too big. Doc says he wants to avoid a c-section this time also,
if possible. Also, doc induced my labor with my daughter, however I was 4 centimeters dialated
at the time she started labor for me. (Does that make sense?) I would like to know about
any one who was induced. What is it like to be induced without being dilated at all??? Thanks!

: That seems rather a strange reason to induce labour to me! is there any other medical reason? I had an induction first time round and it was not pleasant! According to my NCT teacher it is the head coming out that is the worst bit - and the size of head between smaller/larger babies is not that much different. She reckons it is actually easier to give birth to a larger baby as they are stronger and can do more for themselves. Can't say for definate as my baby was Caesarian but she has had 2 and has had over 1000 women through her classes so she's more expert than me! If you want more details on what it's like to be induced please ask.
