spotting

Hello,

.....i've noticed a brownish discharge....and my period shoud start in about 10 days.
i had noticed it before too, but not always. it usually apears 10-14 days before my next period
...what is it?
my last period was more than a week late.....i thought i was pregnant, now im starting to
worry again.

could it just be due to ovulation?

please help.
