Taking high dosage of vitamin A in the early of pregnancy

Hi all,

A friend of mine had been taking high dosage of vitamin A (50000 units per day) when she was
impregnated. She actually stopped taking vitamin A about a week later. Now she is in the third
week of pregnancy. She has consulted some doctors and most of them adviced that she should
abort because the vitamin A may cause deformity to the foetus.
Could somebody please give her an advice.
Her doctor arranged the time for the abort in this Saturday (24 June 2000).
