Peekaboo:
Your periods sound pretty normal, that is, you're ovulating. I just got pregnant and have been
reading all sorts of material. In one book I was reading how a woman sometimes gets pregnant
(the egg gets fertilized) but the egg cannot implant in the uterine lining because the lining can't
support the embryo. This is due to a hormonal imbalance and is one cause of infertility. The good
news is that when working with a good doc you can find out which hormone is goofing up the lining
go on hormone therapy that will create a better lining!! There are other causes of infertility of course
but I'm just trying to say that there are a lot of treatments out there to help a couple get pregnant.
Maybe you'd feel more comfortable with a woman doctor examining/doing a pap smear? You
know she's been there and done that...you'll most probably be getting poked and proded a lot
during pregnancy and delivery anyway, so now's the time to face those uncomfortable feelings
regarding pap smears etc. You can do it!! Just pick a sensitive, understanding doc and you'll be
just fine. Let me know how it goes!
