: Post partum depression is just the thyroid trying to get all the hormones and body chemicals back into balance. Try seeing an endocrinologist if it does not go away or is severe, as it does not always go away on its own.
: Postpartum depression also has social-- non-hormonal components. You went through a tremendous physical and emotional stress in giving birth, and also a reorganization of your life and the roles you fill. It is helpful to talk regularly with other new mothers to share ideas about how to cope. IT is also very important for you to make sure you have time in your day for yourself-- so you do not lose YOU in your adjustment to being a new mother.
