A few days can make all the difference. Since your cervix is already ripining on it's own i can't see why your doctor would want you to have the meds to ripen it. Obviously there may be a reason why there is a rush on it. But either way, i've had the gel (they put it inside your vagina) to ripen the cervix, while for me it worked great, it also gave me horrible back cramps, i didn't sleep at all the nite before i had my son. So if there is another way you should try and do it, it's not a pleasent thing to go through, there are definitly worse things to experience....but if your body is doing the work on it's own why force it....unless of course there is a valid reason for rushing things along.
