I wrote about my friend who is pregnant under the topic "Unplanned pregnancy". Well yesterday she went to the doctor to find out some information about the baby. The doctor told her she was 5 weeks pregnant. This means that the guy she wanted to be the dad is not. So she told the guy who is the father last night. He was surprised. As soon as she told him he told her he was back with his ex. She was hoping he would want to be with her, but that isn't the worst part. He asked how does the custody thing go. Does she automatically get custody? Where can someone go to find this out? Well needless to say these questions devistated her. She does not believe in abortion, but last night when I spoke with her she told me that she does not want to carry a child that would not be in her custody. Does anyone know where I can go to find out this information. Does she automatically get custody? And if she doesn't is there anything she can do to increase her chances in obtaining custody?
Her situation right now is that she is going back to school to get her high school diploma, and then she plans to go to college to get her nursing diploma. She is presently living with her mother and brother, and her 3 year old child lives with her. She has been pretty crazy the last couple of years, drugs, booze, partying, but she sees this new baby as a sign to slow down. She is extremely unloved by everyone she gets close to. I wish there was more I can do for her. If anyone can help me about finding the information of custody as well as some information on how to find support groups for single mothers expecting I would appreciate it. Tahnks.
