discouraged..

Hi there. I am about 13 weeks now and I'm getting pretty worried about this. When I went to the doctor for my initial blood work on the first pre natal visit I requested a toxoplasmosis test to be ordered. Well, they took my blood for it but said they have to send it away to Calgary. (I live in Alberta) Anyways I have been back and forth to my doctor since then and she says each time that the test will take a long time because it had to be sent away, but last time she told me they might not even do it! If I personally requested this test for myself, don't you think they should do it?
Anyway, I had a bad headache the other day and it feels like my glands are getting a bit swollen, and I'm getting very worried.
I live with 2 cats that only go out on they're leash but have been looking after another cat for a few weeks now that isn't ours.
Also my mom's cats are always catching birds and I don't ever change the litter or anything but when we go over to visit, I do pet them.
Please help me. I'm mostly looking for reasurance and any info anyone has as to if the lab can just decide not to do the test if I requested it.
