Everything I have read concerning Celexa warns to let your doctor know if you are planing to become pregnant, are pregnant or are breast feeding. Celexa will go to your breast milk and your baby will ingest it. Since it is unethical to experiemnt with a drug on humans or pregant women, they don't really know for sure what it would do to you or your baby---why take the chance!
Now the becoming pregnant part I still am looking into---I am on Celexa and I adore it! I feel like myself again after sooooo long. The idea of stopping it is awful. But my husband and I want another child so there you have it. What will I do? Not sure yet. If I end up uncertain whether it will harm my baby, I will stop. I am not sucidal though, I have atypical depression. I don't know what to advise someone who is even worse off. Look into alternative medicine?
But if your Doctor says, hey I've had 40 women deliver healthy babies, stay on the drug----get another opinion. 40 healthy babies, so what?! What about LONG TERM effects!? How will those kids be at age 10?
