Hi Tina. It is best to sleep on your left side. There is better bood flow to the placenta and baby in that position. I think it is safe to sleep on your stomach as long as you are comfortable. Soon, you uterus will be too big and you may feel pressure when you lay on your stomach causing discomfort to you but no harm to your baby at that point. They say you should avoid sleeping on your back, however, if you wake up that way just roll over. It won't hurt you or the baby to find yourself on your back in the middle of the night. I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and I still find myself waking up on my back but not very often because it is too uncomforatble at this point. I sleep on my sides now and usually on my left side. Enjoy the few extra options you have now while you are 6 weeks because as you get bigger it gets harder to find a comfortable position and sleep well. Good luck with your pregnancy. I hope I was of some help. Lindsey
